Edward Rouse, Artistic Director and Director of Amadeus and Camerata Choirs, holds his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Biola University. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Conducting from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied conducting with William Weinert. Ed has sung professionally as a chorister and soloist with Vocal Arts Ensemble of Cincinnati, the Eastman Rochester Chorus, and Los Robles Master Chorale. He has worked as a conductor and teacher in New York, Ohio, and California. Ed is also active as an adjudicator and choral technician in Southern California. He has lead tours with various choirs to Europe and throughout the United States. His vision for a vibrant choral heritage in the Conejo Valley can be seen in his conducting of several choirs at Oaks Christian School where he teaches, and in the Amadeus and Camerata Choirs of LRCC. As the newly appointed Artistic Director, Ed is excited to develop new opportunities for children to perform while maintaining the high standards of excellence in singing and artistry for which LRCC is known.
Dana Rouse, Executive Director and Director of Bel Canto and Apprentice Choirs, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Biola University and her Master’s Degree in the same from the Eastman School of Music. As a mezzo-soprano, she has performed musical theater and operatic roles in Los Angeles, Cincinnati, and Rochester, New York. She has also appeared as a solo oratorio artist in many works including Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody and Verdi’s Requiem. Dana has a love for teaching and has run the Rouse Music Studio for more than 18 years. She has also taught voice at the State University of New York in Fredonia, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, as well as general music at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School in Thousand Oaks. Dana has sung locally with Los Robles Master Chorale, and is currently a chorister and soloist with Arete, a professional vocal ensemble in residence at California Lutheran University. She directs Bel Canto and Apprentice Choirs for LRCC, and is thrilled to be serving as the Executive Director of the Choir.
CHRISTINE DEKLOTZ, ACCOMPANIST FOR AMADEUS AND CAMERATA CHOIRS, received her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Southern California. She plays with local symphonies and accompanies soloists and choirs in performances throughout the southland. She has accompanied Los Robles Master Chorale, and toured Europe with them. For twelve years, she has been a pianist with Los Robles Children’s Choir. She accompanies the Amadeus and Camerata Choirs as well as Village Voices in Westlake Village. She enjoys performing chamber music as well as teaching piano and leading recorder groups. She is the music director at Faith Lutheran Church in Moorpark. According to Chris, “Music has a way of filling all the nooks and crannies.”
AMY KOMIE, ACCOMPANIST FOR BEL CANTO CHOIR, is enjoying her twelfth year with the Choir. She also serves as the accompanist for Oaks Christian High School and Middle School choirs, as well as Simi Valley High School and Moorpark Presbyterian Church choir. Ms. Komie received her B.A. in piano from the University of North Texas. In addition to accompanying for choirs and soloists, she teaches private piano lessons in the local area. Ms. Komie is passionate about sharing the love of music with others and enjoys continuing to learn and grow as a musician.
DONNA YOUNG, FOUNDING DIRECTOR – Donna Young founded Los Robles Children’s Choir in 1997. In fifteen years she grew the Choir to over 120 singers, and provided numerous cultural and musical opportunities for the singers both locally and worldwide. Donna and her husband Robert now reside in Texas.
