Holiday Wonder Concert 2012
The four ensembles of Los Robles Children’s Choir performed an inspiring concert on December 8, 2012 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Kavli Theatre. A highlight of the evening was hearing all the children singing a combined piece entitled “We are Lights” while holding candles. There were several songs with brass quintet accompaniment and a piece with four-hand piano called “I Saw Three Ships” that simply shimmered. Congratulations to everyone for a beautiful 16th Holiday Concert!
Crossroads Tour Summer 2012
Crossroads Children’s Chorus Festival in Nashville, Tennessee was a unique and musically challenging choir experience for our choristers. Fourteen students from Los Robles Children’s Choir joined with about 50 other choir students from two other children’s choirs from around the United States to take part in a once in a lifetime performance on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry House. Under the direction of Dr. Sandra Snow, our students performed with members of the Nashville Symphony, country music hit maker and writer Jamie O’Neal, soprano star of the Operatic stage Kallen Esperian and Broadway leading man Lawrence Hamilton.
Spring Reflections Concert 2012
LRCC’s “Reflections” concert was a special event for several reasons. First, it marked the anniversary of the Choir’s 15th season. Second, it featured an alumni choir of over 30 singers from almost all the previous years of the Choir’s history. Third, it was a celebration of Donna Young’s founding of this amazing choral organization and her retirement. The singers performed works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Caccini, Copland, and Mozart–to name a few. The concert ended with over 125 singers performing Rutter’s “The Lord Bless You and Keep You”, moving many in the audience to tears.
